Surgery Scheduling

The Center works closely with your doctor’s office to schedule surgery at a time that is most convenient for you.

We encourage you to carefully review and complete all of the paperwork and/or instructions provided by your physician.  Several days before your surgery, you will receive an email and/or text with a link to complete our pre-admission questionnaire. You will also receive a call from our Financial Coordinator to see if a deductible, copay and/or coinsurance is due on the date of service.

Please call us at (240) 751-1951 with any questions.

55 W Watkins Mill Road
Suite 250
Gaithersburg, MD 20878

Telephone: 240-751-1951
Fax: 240-751-1951

A nurse will contact you to confirm your appointment time. You are expected to be at the Center at least 60 minutes unless otherwise instructed, before your scheduled surgery/procedure time. Completing the online health history questionnaire, (One Medical Passport), will expedite your check in process.

  •  Do not eat anything after midnight the day before your surgery unless you are specifically told to do so by your surgeon or anesthesiologist.
  • You may drink water/Gatorade (no red) up until you leave your home to come to the center.
  • You may bathe or shower in the morning of your procedure. This will help you feel more refreshed and reduce the risk of infection.  You may brush your teeth.
Joint replacement surgeries should follow the bathing instructions as provided by your doctor
  • The Center requires you to arrange for a family member or friend to drive you to and from the Center and remain at the Center during your procedure. The effects of the anesthesia and surgery will prohibit you from driving.
  • If you have not completed the online health questionnaire bring a list of any medications you may currently be taking.  Check with your physician regarding which medications you may take on the day of surgery. On the day of surgery, we recommend that you take your normal complement of medicines (with a sip of water) with the exception of blood thinners, oral diabetic medication and blood pressure medication.
  • Patients that are insulin dependent diabetics/insulin pump users should refer to their doctors for instructions.
  • Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup prior to your arrival as this may interfere with your procedure.
  • Wear comfortable clothes. Remove all jewelry and leave all valuables at home, including any jewelry. Lockers will be provided for your belongings.
  • Prior to surgery you will asked to remove your eye glasses or contact lenses, as well as, dentures or bridges.

Check-in: When you arrive at our center we ask that you check-in at the registration desk to verify personal, escort and insurance information.

Following Admission: After checking in at our center, you will be brought to the pre-op area where the nurse will do a health interview and prepare you for surgery. You and your family or escort will stay in the room until it is time for your surgery. An anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthesia with you and answer any questions. At the appropriate time you will be escorted to the operating room. During surgery your escort will stay in a waiting area and will rejoin you in the recovery area after your surgery.  If you should need to leave at any time please check with the reception.

Because of the effects of the anesthesia and your surgery, it is necessary that you have someone accompany you home and be with you for the next 24 hours.

  • Once your surgery is completed you may feel a bit groggy. This is not unexpected. All efforts will be made to maintain your comfort.
  • A member of the nursing staff will advise you when you may leave the Center following surgery.
  • Do not drive. The sedation you receive before and during surgery prevents you from driving for the next 24 hours. You should also refrain from making any legal decisions.
  • Written instructions regarding postoperative care will be given to you when leaving the Center concerning diet, exercise and other activities. Your nurse will review these with your before leaving. Be sure to consult your physician regarding any medication and follow up appointments.
  • If you experience anything unusual after your surgery, please call your surgeon or go to the nearest emergency room. A nurse from our center will call you the next day after your surgery to check on your recovery.
